Have you wanted to love brown rice? Trying to be healthy, use whole grains, etc, etc...? My hubby and I try to eat as healthy as possible. But every time I tried to be "healthy" and cook brown rice, it tasted like cardboard. It came out so hard and flavorless. Then I discovered baking the rice. Sounds weird? Well at first I thought so too, but then....fluffy, flavorfull perfection! So do yourself a favor and try this rice. It has such a nice deep hearty taste. You'll never want plain old white rice again. Perfect results every time.
Baked Brown Rice
1 1/2 cups brown rice
2 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
Place the rice into a 2 quart glass baking dish.
Bring the water, butter, and salt just to a boil in a covered saucepan. Once the water boils, pour it over the rice, stir to combine, and cover the dish with aluminum foil and glass lid. Bake for 1 hour. Remove cover and fluff. Enjoy!
Makes about 6-8 servings
