Tilapia is a really nice, light, and versatile fish. We always keep filets on hand which make a quick and healthy dinner option. This recipe uses crushed Ritz crackers that results in a beautiful golden crust. This is also a really easy recipe to adapt to your taste! You can substitute the garlic powder for a variety of other seasonings or add to it. However you choose to make it, you'll be happy to add this to your recipe arsenal:-)
Garlic Crusted Tilapia
2 tilapia filets
salt & pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
3/4 cup crushed Ritz crackers
1 egg, beaten
canola oil
Generously coat the tilapia filets with salt & pepper.
Add the garlic powder to the crushed crackers and stir to combine.
Dip each filet in the beaten egg and then press into the cracker mixture to completely coat. Let the filets sit for 5 minutes to allow the coating to set.
Add oil to a large frying pan over medium high heat and cook the filets for about 3 minutes on each side to achieve a nice golden color. Yummy!
