My husband and I always like to get a good start to the morning. For us, the best way to do that is with a smoothie. Not only is it pack full of nutritional goodness, it's also so quick and easy to make. This is "fast food" at its best. The frozen fruit really helps the consistency of the smoothie…it's like ice-cream! And with our handy dandy nifty thrifty Ninja blender, the frozen fruit is easily pulverized. So go ahead, treat yourself to "fast food" for breakfast!
1 cup frozen Strawberries
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 frozen banana
1 cup milk (any kind)
1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein (about 3 tbsp)
2 heaping tbsp ground flax seed
add sweetener to taste (for us the fruit is sweet enough!)
Dump all ingredients into your blender and blend until nice and smooth!
